The objectives of Collegiate Eligibility Initiatives, LLC are three-fold:
To meet these objectives, Collegiate Eligibility Initiatives, LLC offers the following services to provide clarity and understanding in the area of intercollegiate athletics: Collegiate Eligibility Initiatives, LLC in conjunction with Prep 48, can assist a student who desires to participate in intercollegiate athletics in evaluating their core-courses and test scores as early as their freshman year. This enables a student to plan his or her high school core-course selections as well as determine the frequency of taking the SAT or ACT before formally submitting grades and test scores in order to be certified to participate in intercollegiate athletics. Further, such a preliminary evaluation allows prospective intercollegiate student-athletes to provide clarity on his or her academic record to collegiate coaches who are making decisions on whom they will recruit and offer athletic scholarships. In order for prospective intercollegiate student-athletes to select appropriate core-courses, the high school administrators must accurately identify core-courses and advise prospective intercollegiate student-athletes accordingly. Collegiate Eligibility Initiatives, LLC can assist in this process as well as help high school administrators with the review and submission of preliminary and final transcripts.* Collegiate Eligibility Initiatives, LLC offers a variety of seminars for high school and athletic administrators, prospective intercollegiate student-athletes and parents. The purpose of this session is to educate individuals charged with the responsibility of assisting prospective intercollegiate student-athletes with the selection of their secondary educational program. This session describes how these individuals may assist prospective student-athletes in meeting the requirements to become eligible for athletic participation and scholarships at post- secondary institutions. Topics include understanding the academic initial eligibility requirements, their role after the prospective student-athletes formally submit materials for certification, academic eligibility myths and impediments to academic initial academic eligibility.
The purpose of this session is to provide specific information to prospective intercollegiate student- athletes entering their final year of secondary school and their parents or guardians as they prepare to make decisions about participating in intercollegiate athletics at a post-secondary institution. Topics include completing the certification process, signing the National Letter of Intent, financial aid documents and any forms required by a post-secondary institution. Further, prospective intercollegiate student-athletes are educated about other issues that affect their status as enrolled student-athletes including progress toward degree, individual and institutional financial aid limits and extra benefits.
The purpose of this session is to educate prospective intercollegiate student-athletes in their third year of secondary school and their parents or guardians about the specifics regulations of the intercollegiate athletic initial eligibility process. Topics include registering to be certified for financial aid and participation in intercollegiate athletics, making the proper selection of core- courses, understanding the “sliding scale” and recruiting terms such as official visits, contacts and evaluations.
The purpose of this session is to introduce prospective intercollegiate student-athletes in their first or second year of secondary school and their parents or guardians to the process of preparing for requirements of the intercollegiate athletic initial eligibility process. Topics include understanding the definition of a prospective student-athlete, the difference between core-courses and non core- courses, the importance of selecting appropriate secondary school courses, preparing a plan to meet the initial eligibility requirements and selected aspects of the recruiting process. * Student must grant permission pursuant to the Buckley Amendment. |
